Other information

I do ongoing professional development through IDA(Ontario), IDA (SOCAL), Learning Disability Association (Halton), Readworks. org, and receive many resources from the Canadian Academy of Therapeutic Tutors (CATT), with whom I am certified. CATT expects all their Associate Multisensory Practitioners to do yearly professional development, or they will not renew your certification. They also provide insurance for us. I did a rigorous 3 month in-class training at Surrey College, BC, Canada, 1 year of practicum, and the final evaluation. I'm also an ESL Teacher. I'm the author of What Teachers Are Made Of and proudly share many of my strategies to bring out the best in students, who are seen as persons first, with interests and strengths. These qualities are incorporated in the student's curriculum, and the environment for teaching is multisensory and therapeutic, where explicit on-on-one cooperative teaching is incorporated. Im passionate about seeing learners succeed!
