Embracing Dyslexia is a thought-provoking exploration of dyslexia from an insider’s perspective, weaving together interviews with parents, adult dyslexics, and experts to provide an accurate portrayal of a learning disability that affects 15-20% of the population.
Parents share emotional stories of their children’s struggles with reading, writing, and spelling and the impact the word dyslexia had on their lives. Adult dyslexics speak candidly of their struggles and successes they had in school. And experts illustrate how effective tutoring, accommodations, and fostering strengths can take a child with dyslexia from experiencing failure to believing in themselves and finding success.
Please join us, with your family and friends, for this FREE screening offered in honour of Dyslexia Awareness Month, October 2015. Although this is a FREE event, donations will be accepted for
The Oliver Martin Memorial Trust Fund Assessment Scholarship, a fund managed by ONBIDA that provides scholarship assistance for Psycho-Educational assessments for students who struggle to learn to read and write as their primary area of difficulty.
We will have a brief Q & A session after the movie.
We hope to see you there!
