Board Member Volunteer Interest Form
The International Dyslexia Association (IDA) Ontario is seeking nominations for passionate and committed individuals to serve on our Board of Directors. We are currently accepting nominations for board positions and invite you to consider nominating yourself or someone whose leadership and commitment align with our mission.
- Attend six virtual board meetings per year
- Chair one committee or serve actively on two committees
- Participate in committee meetings, which typically occur once or twice per month
- Contribute their expertise, lived experience, or professional knowledge in areas such as education, advocacy, fundraising, governance, communications, and community engagement
These responsibilities are designed to foster meaningful involvement in IDA’s work and ensure that board members are well-informed, effective, and connected to the mission.

To nominate yourself or someone else, please complete the the form below by end of the day Friday, May 23, 2026. Our Governance Committee will review nominations, and selected candidates will be contacted for the next steps.
We continue to welcome volunteers to serve on our committees. Committee involvement is a vital way to contribute to IDA Ontario’s work, shape key initiatives, and support the organization’s impact, especially for those interested in future board positions.

Current Board Opportunities: Non-Executive Committees
- Advocacy: This committee works to amplify the voices of individuals with dyslexia and their families, influencing policy, practice, and public awareness across Ontario.
- Conference: TThis committee leads the planning and delivery of IDA Ontario’s Literacy and Learning Conference, managing logistics, program development, and on-site execution to support high-quality professional learning.
- Communications and Marketing: This committee promotes IDA's activities and develop and share content for websites, social media, newsletters, and other communications channels to raise awareness of dyslexia and literacy initiatives.
- Community Inquiries: This committee responds to email, website, and phone inquiries from community members, including individuals with dyslexia or reading difficulties and their families.
- Community Resources: This committee develops guides and provides resources to support parents, caregivers, educators and libraries.
- Community Events: This committee plans webinars and workshops, to support professional learning and community engagement.
- Fundraising: This committee identities, plans, and executes fundraising opportunities to secure financial support mission of the charity.
