In order to facilitate services in areas with less access to services for children with dyslexia, ONBIDA offers a distance training course for parents who wish to learn how to teach their own children to read. This course is run by a highly experienced and qualified multisensory structured language therapist.

The language therapist will instruct each parent tutor about how to teach their child via email correspondence. Parent tutors must have the ability to work well with the child and a high level of commitment to delivering the required number of lessons per week. Adults other than the parents (friends, other family members) may also apply to be the “Parent as Tutor” for the child.
